The short version
Public ratings of Buffalo Lake Lending are mostly negative and the sample is small. Trustpilot shows a 2.5 out of 5 score from five ratings, SuperMoney has one user vote (not recommended), and the BBB lists 12 complaints. The recurring theme is total cost: borrowers say they repaid far more than they received, mainly through automatic bank debits.
We did not find a large body of positive ratings. That does not prove the lender never works out for anyone, but it is a signal worth taking seriously before you apply. Everything below comes from public pages, linked in the sources list.

Ratings at a glance
| Source | What it shows | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Better Business Bureau | Rating of A-, 12 complaints, not BBB accredited, file opened 12/17/2021 | BBB lists "Bison Lending" as an alternate name. A BBB letter grade is not the same as customer satisfaction. |
| Trustpilot | 2.5 out of 5 from 5 ratings | Very few ratings. Trustpilot labels the score "Poor". |
| SuperMoney | No rating yet; 1 user vote, not recommended | Product page lists $200–$2,000, 3–18 months, APR not disclosed. |
Small rating counts swing easily. Treat these as a starting point, then read the original pages.
What the complaints keep saying
1. Repaying much more than was borrowed
One BBB complaint describes borrowing $640 and repaying $1,011.06 through six biweekly bank debits of $168.51 each. A Trustpilot poster describes the same figures. Another BBB poster says a $300 loan led to $375 being pulled from their account and a quoted payoff of $1,300. These are individual accounts we cannot independently verify.
2. Automatic debits that are hard to stop
Several posters say they revoked bank-debit access and then struggled to get written confirmation or a payoff letter. If this applies to you, see our page on how to stop ACH debits.
3. Very high interest claims
One Trustpilot poster claims an interest rate of about 700 percent and says the loan amount changed after signing. That is a claim by a single poster, not a verified rate. SuperMoney's page for this product lists the APR as not disclosed, which is exactly why you should ask for the written APR and total of payments before you sign.
4. Loans a person says they never took
One BBB complaint says the person never applied but saw loans reported by a credit monitoring service. If you see an account you do not recognize, treat it as possible identity theft and visit IdentityTheft.gov.
What might work in its favor
- Funding can be fast — SuperMoney says typically within 1 business day of approval.
- It says applicants with any credit score can apply (no stated minimum).
- It reports to Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, so on-time payments may be reflected on your credit reports.
- SuperMoney's FAQ states there is no prepayment fee, although other text on that page is inconsistent — confirm in your loan agreement.
How to use these ratings
If you are comparing options, ask for the APR, the total of all payments, the number of payments, and the debit dates in writing before accepting any offer. Compare that total with the alternatives on our alternatives page. If the total cost makes you uneasy, that reaction is useful information.
